Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Garage Sale Comp Checker ("the app") collects and how it is used. It is written in plain language on purpose.

What we collect

• Account information — your email address, display name, and optional profile photo, stored with Google Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email those providers share.
• Item photos — photos you take or choose for a price check are uploaded to our cloud storage so the search can run, and stay in your account's history until you delete them.
• Check history and usage — the results of your searches and a count of how many searches you've used, so we can enforce the monthly allowance.

How photos are used

To find comparable listings, your item photo is submitted to a reverse image search (Google Lens, via the SerpApi service) from our servers. Photos are not used for advertising, are not used to train models, and are not shared with other users.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't show ads or use third-party advertising trackers.
• We don't access your photo library beyond the images you pick.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual checks from the History tab at any time, and you can delete your entire account and its data in the app under Profile → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your profile, your photos, and your check history.

Children

The app is rated 4+ but is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the effective date above and post the new version here.
